Two. Which is why we're driving a Ford Explorer (not our original car). It was quite comical trying to see if we could get away with it... but clearly, we were traveling too heavy. Oh well.
Our flights and connections went quite smoothly, and the boys weathered the long day with as much grace as you can expect from young and active boys. Really, they were rock stars.
We spent the rest of our travel day settling into our room and enjoying the pool at the Westin in Kaanapali. We also sampled some local eats at Aloha Mixed Plate in Lahaina while waiting for our room to be ready, yummy! Today (Friday) was quite windy, in fact the Coast Guard suspended ALL boating activities for the island. We spent 2 long sessions in the pools, with a jaunt into Lahaina for a few hours in the middle. We check out of the Westin tomorrow, and head over to the Maui Beach Vacation Club in Kehei, where we'll be for the week. We booked our last night in Maui back at the Westin, as they have a late departure lounge complete with showers that we'll be able to use before we head for home on a red eye. But enough about going home!
We've got a snorkel trip planned for Monday morning, and also plan a whale watching tour eventually, but otherwise will see where the wind blows us (which will hopefully only be figurative, as the high wind warnings are supposed to abate and we should have great weather for the next few days).
Don't forget, all of the pictures will be in this gallery (click for link). We'll continue to add to the gallery, when we've got down time. Aloha!
